On March 21 2010, sventeen year old Alexis Pilkington took her life due to cyber bullying taking place on a popular website known as formspring. While issues may have been already present in her life, maybe depression, it is still not okay that people took it among themselves to say such things to her. Legal action is being taken against the people who may be responsible for part of this teenagers death. Even though the posts were anonymous, IP addresses can be tracked and the person's address will be found.
Cyber bullying is never okay, regardless of the circumstance. An innocent life was lost due to the ignorance of others. Don't be ignorant: don't cyber bully.

I agree with this and it ties to my ''Formspring'' blog. I don't see what the point of Formspring is, it just comes off to me as a forum to make fun of others and that's not okay. They say actions speak louder than words, but when you're getting cyber bullied, words are all you see, and they can get to you; they HURT. people think they're cool because they can hide behind a keyboard and say something they wouldn't normally say in real life situations, People see the internet as some sort of 'invisible security blanket''. It's stories like this that really make me think about what we do with ttechnology.
ReplyDeleteFirst myspace , then facebook and now formsprings. This is really sad what happened to someone this young. This should be really stop but people are ignorant to relize it hurts. Anthor kid with facebook commited sucide also the mother got on the daughter account told kid that she didn't like and to commit sucide and wellp he did. So what is this world coming to cause I can say but it's not really a good interperation.
